From May 22nd to 23rd, the 2025 China Cosmetics Science and Technology Conference, hosted by the China Fragrance and Flavor Industry Association, was successfully held in Kunming, Yunnan. Themed "Technology Empowers Beauty and Green Innovation Leads the Future", this conference featured rich content, diverse formats, and continuous excitement. On the 23rd, during the "Sub-forum on Cutting-edge Science and Technology in the Cosmetics Industry", representatives from domestic and international cosmetics and raw material production enterprises gathered together, sharing exciting insights with the participants from various aspects such as raw material research and development, skin and hair care, and mechanism of action research.

Dr. Zhang Shasha, R&D Director of Ascend Megabio, gave a presentation titled "Synthetic Biology Driving the Innovative Development of Cosmetic Ingredients". She systematically reviewed the development history and technological tiers of synthetic biology, highlighting its significant value in the innovation of cosmetic ingredients. Using typical cases of terpenoid compounds such as astaxanthin and retinoid analogues as entry points, she demonstrated the technological advantages of synthetic biology in green preparation of ingredients and accelerating the development of new ingredients. Her informative sharing earned rounds of applause from the attending guests.
